Do you work on commercial projects?
Yes. We deliver commercial plumbing and heating projects including fit-outs and plant room work, and have worked on hospital and school sites. Call Lewis on 07867 388453 to discuss your project.
Do you still fit bathrooms?
No. We now focus on boiler installations, servicing and repairs, plumbing and heating installations, and commercial work.
Boiler Installation
How much does a new boiler cost?
A new boiler fitted by LWS starts from £1,995, including installation, removal of your old boiler, a system flush, a magnetic filter and Building Regulations registration. The exact price depends on your home and the boiler you choose. Our online quote gives you a fixed price in about 60 seconds.
Is the online boiler price really fixed?
Yes. As long as the answers you give match your home, the price you see is the price you pay. Lewis confirms the details with a quick call or photo before your installation is booked.
How long does a boiler installation take?
A straightforward like-for-like boiler swap is usually completed in one day. Switching boiler type or moving the boiler can take one to two days.
Should I get a combi or a system boiler?
Combi boilers suit most homes with one or two bathrooms and free up cupboard space. Homes with three or more bathrooms usually do better with a system boiler and hot water cylinder, so several showers can run at once. Our quote recommends the right type for your home.
Boiler Servicing
How often should my boiler be serviced?
Most manufacturers recommend a boiler service every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and many require it to keep your warranty valid.
How long does a boiler service take?
A typical boiler service takes under an hour, depending on the boiler and what we find.
Do you service all boiler brands?
We service all major gas boiler brands. Tell us the make and model when you book and we will confirm.
Boiler Repairs & Breakdowns
What should I check if my boiler stops working?
Check the boiler has power, the gas is on, the pressure gauge reads around 1 to 1.5 bar when cold and your thermostat is calling for heat. In freezing weather, check the condensate pipe outside has not frozen. If it still will not work, call us on 07867 388453.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Do not use electrical switches or naked flames. Open doors and windows, turn off the gas at the meter if it is safe, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency number on 0800 111 999.
Is it worth repairing an old boiler?
Sometimes. If your boiler is over 10 to 15 years old, breaking down often or parts are hard to find, a replacement can be better value. We will always give you an honest view and prices for both.
Plumbing & Heating Installations
Do you install complete central heating systems?
Yes. We design and install full central heating systems, including boilers, radiators, cylinders, pipework and controls, for homes, renovations and extensions.
Commercial Plumbing & Heating
What types of commercial work do you take on?
Plumbing and heating fit-outs, plant room installations, heating upgrades and hot and cold water services for healthcare, education and commercial clients.
Can you work around a live site?
Yes. We regularly plan work around live hospital and school sites, including out-of-hours and holiday working, with RAMS and site documentation in place.
